‘I am interested in how the (my) body both functions and fails to function.’
Statement
Working at the nexus of art and medical science, my work focuses on the complexity as well as the vulnerability of the human body (mind). As resident artist at the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer since 2015, my research includes molecular biology and behavioural science. The foundation of my drawing practice and research methodology is the systematic mapping and remapping of bodily function/malfunction. Through this process I seek to develop an archive of knowledge and understanding: the resulting multilayered works attempt to characterise both the complexity and the impermanence of function.
